Our Team
Director
Emily Devers is an Australian artist and Owner / Director of The Third Quarter. She is driven by any opportunity to connect artists to artists, and artists to community, and wants to see the Brisbane creative community thrive through forward thinking and inclusive events.
On days off, you'll find her digging for records, acquiring too many second hand art books, and coming up with new ways to connect marginalised artists with the public through the gallery.
Curator
Soph Kubler is an emerging curator and writer with a background in art history and commercial gallery spaces. Soph is passionate about working with marginalised artists and is committed to building a strong and sustainable creative economy for Brisbane.
She loves reading non-fiction, growing her veggie garden and Scout Café bagels in equal measure.
Events Manager
Joshua Tate takes care of all the public events here at The Third Quarter. Through the week you'll see him welcoming the public to our weekly life drawing sessions, serving behind the bar at exhibition openings and circulating amongst patrons during our industry events.
Josh is also an exceptional photographer and filmmaker exploring his practice predominantly on photographic film. He is intrigued by the beauty of everyday life and how photography can connect us all on an intimate level, and he really knows his way around a bottle of natural wine.
Gallery Administator
Myf Halton is an emerging writer and arts facilitator in Brisbane currently finishing a Bachelor of Creative industries majoring in Art/Design history and Journalism at QUT.
Aiming to support a growing arts culture in Brisbane in the early years of her career, she's new to the team and is enjoying all the learning opportunities that come from working closely with the Curator and the Director, and supporting artists to feel valued through their exhibition experience.
Myf's always repping local makers, designers and artists through her well-curated outfits.
