The purpose of this project by Newcastle artist Ian McCallum is to examine the notion of the everyday. Through showing the interaction an artist has with the world around them, noticing itself becomes the reason for creation. This is not an attempt to identify everyday experiences, but to provide an insight.

The camera, as a tool, allows for fast documentation of ephemeral moments in time, as the artist moves through environments. An often overlooked element of creation, worthy of discussion, this photographic documentation is important to the process of the contributing artists in this publication.

Through cataloguing, each artist builds a collection of imagery, which appeals to individual taste and informs their practice. Acting as a transient gallery, this journal shares a piece of each artist's process.
